Educational Programs

Since 2010 at No Boundaries Youth Theater, Darren has developed and brought theater programs and productions to over 9,000 children and young adults from preschool through college-age, particularly in under-served school districts. During his time serving as both Executive and Artistic Director, the company was called Connecticut’s Best Children’s Theater by Connecticut Magazine. Darren is available to help develop and evaluate educational theater programming at all levels.

His single-day, educational programs have taken several forms: an introduction to creating theater and building acting skills; acting games and improv to build teamwork, creativity, and social and emotional learning skills; or a focus on understanding or performing a specific dramatic work. Longer programs—either a few days, weeks, or a full school year—have been customized for multiple schools and groups.

Darren has developed curriculum for each program based upon pre-program meetings with principals, teachers, or group leaders, and in alignment with specific literacy or other curriculum, applied theater practices, National Core Arts Standards, and Common Core State Standards for English and Language Arts.

To engage Darren for educational program planning, promotion, or evaluation, contact him by phone or email for schedules and rates.
